Lilly Piri

Biography

Lilly Piri creates her art on Wangerriburra land on beautiful Jambreen (Tamborine Mountain). She loves painting in different styles and creating whatever takes her fancy. Of particular interest is still life, landscape, portraits, woodworking, and colour pencil illustrations.

She has held solo exhibitions in Melbourne, California (USA), Heidelberg (Germany), Byron Bay, and Tamborine Mountain. She has been a finalist in the Churchie and Lethbridge 20000, as well as semi finalist in The Lester Prize. Her work is held in numerous private collections around the world.

Piri's artwork has appeared in publications including Frankie, Little White Lies (UK), Yen, NYLON, Elle Girl (South Korea), as well as countless others. You can also find her illustrations on all 12 Australian covers of the Friday Barnes series by R.A. Spratt. Her experience in illustration includes advertising, children's book illustration, textile design, editorials, asset creation for animated TV commercials. Clients include Penguin Random House Australia, Oxfam America, Officeworks, and Saatchi & Saatchi.

Lilly lived in Germany for years and is fluent in the language. You can see the influence of her time there in her still life paintings.
